Palm Beach Gardens, FL ( - The PGA of America announced on Thursday that two of its championships are headed to courses owned by Donald Trump.

Trump's original course, Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, N.J., will host the 2022 PGA Championship, while Trump National Golf Club - Washington, DC will be the venue for the 2017 Senior PGA Championship.

The PGA in Bedminster will be the third New Jersey course to host a PGA Championship. Trump National - Washington is actually located in Potomac Falls, Va. and that will mark the first time that the Senior PGA will be contested in the state of Virginia.

"The PGA of America is excited to begin a new chapter of major championship history by taking two of our premier championships to venues that bear the Trump label of excellence," said PGA President Ted Bishop. "Mr. Trump understands what it means to present both the finest venues in golf and an unforgettable experience for both our fans and the greatest players in the game. We look forward to having these exceptional sites identify a major champion in the PGA Championship and the Senior PGA Championship presented by KitchenAid."

These will be the first two major championships contested on Trump courses.

"It is my great honor to be involved with the PGA of America, an organization which I have long respected," said Trump, whose organization owns 16 courses worldwide. "I would like to thank Ted Bishop and Pete Bevacqua for having the confidence in me and The Trump Organization, and in particular recognizing the greatness of two facilities, one in the New York/New Jersey Metro area and the other, directly on the Potomac River in the D.C./Virginia/Maryland area. I have no doubt that these two highly acclaimed courses will lead to one of the best PGA and Senior PGA Championships ever."

Jason Dufner will defend his PGA Championship title in August at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville and Kohki Idoki will defend is Senior PGA Championship crown at Harbor Shores in Benton Harbor, Mich.
