Pittsburgh, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - Following a 4-3 loss to the Philadelphia Flyers on Sunday, the Pittsburgh Penguins announced that defenseman Kris Letang and forward Beau Bennett have been cleared by team doctors and are expected to practice on Monday.

Letang has been out of action since suffering a stroke on Jan. 29, and has completed a mandatory six-week course of blood thinners.

"We had an idea that at this point in time he could possibly be cleared to practice," Pens head coach Dan Bylsma said. "He still has some other things to go through. He's been working out, skating on his own and doing quite a bit on his own. To see Kris return to practice tomorrow will be a good thing for Kris, good thing for us."

Before the setback, Letang recorded 10 goals and 18 points in 34 games.

The 22-year-old sophomore Bennett suffered a wrist injury in late November which eventually required surgery. Despite a setback in late February, Bennett began skating again last week.

Pittsburgh, which leads the Metropolitan Division with a 44-19-4 record and 92 points, has lost an NHL-worst 413 man-games to injury.
