Raleigh, NC (Sports Network) - The Carolina Hurricanes agreed to terms with forward Brett Sutter on a one-year, two-way contract.

The deal, announced Tuesday, will pay the 26-year-old $600,000 in the NHL or $150,000 in the American Hockey League.

Sutter has posted one goal and four assists in 37 NHL appearances with Calgary and Carolina since 2008. He racked up 19 goals and 48 points in 70 games for the Charlotte Checkers in the AHL last season.
