Blackhawks put Handzus on IR

Chicago, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - The Chicago Blackhawks placed forward Michal Handzus on injured reserve and recalled forward Alex Broadhurst from the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League.

Handzus has missed the last eight games with an upper-body injury. The move is retroactive to Oct. 25.

The 36-year-old Handzus has one goal and two assists in nine games this season.

Broadhurst, 20, recorded four goals and seven assists in 16 games with Rockford.
