Recap: San Jose vs. Vancouver

San Jose, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Radim Vrbata scored two goals, Eddie Lack made 38 saves and the visiting Vancouver Canucks rallied for a 3-2 win over the San Jose Sharks on Saturday.

Bo Horvat had the other tally for the Canucks, who climbed out of a two-goal hole to snap a two-game losing streak and move into sole possession of second place in the Pacific Division.

Joe Thornton had a goal and an assist, and Antti Niemi stopped 31 shots for San Jose, which had won its last two games, including a 6-2 triumph at Vancouver on Tuesday.

The loss leaves the Sharks six points behind Winnipeg for the final wild-card spot in the Western Conference.

Vrbata started the comeback late in the first period. He was able to bank the puck in off Niemi as he went behind the net with 39 seconds remaining.

Horvat chipped the puck over Niemi to tie things up with 3:36 remaining in the second period, and the Canucks moved ahead on a 4-on-3 power play.

Daniel Sedin found the puck in a scrum after a faceoff in the San Jose zone and dished to Vrbata, who displayed patience as he moved to his right and fired a shot past Niemi at 5:21 of the third period.

Melker Karlsson pounced on a rebound and fired the puck under the crossbar to give San Jose a 1-0 lead at 7:58 of the first period. Thornton scored a power- play goal four minutes later.
