Recap: Toronto vs. Florida

Toronto, ON (SportsNetwork.com) - Roberto Luongo stopped 27 shots with Jussi Jokinen and Nick Bjugstad recording a power-play goal each as Florida slipped past Toronto, 3-2, at Air Canada Centre.

Jimmy Hayes also tallied, while Brian Campbell picked up two assists for the Panthers, who ended a three-game skid and won on the road for the first time since Feb. 3 at Uniondale.

"Special teams were definitely the key," Florida head coach Gerard Gallant said. "We played well and hard. It was a good win for us."

Tyler Bozak and Phil Kessel lit the lamp for the Maple Leafs, who have lost four in a row and 15 of 16 overall. Jonathan Bernier made just 14 saves in defeat.

Bjugstad connected on a power play at 4:42 of the second with a shot from the left side, and the Panthers went up 3-1 at 13:48 on a Hayes redirection a Campbell drive from the left point.

"Our penalty killing, especially early, was too passive," Leafs interim head coach Peter Horachek said. "We gave them too many opportunities."

Florida's Dave Bolland was sent off for slashing with 1:08 left to play, and Kessel made it interesting on his goal only 18 seconds later, but Toronto mustered little offense for the remainder.

Bozak put the Leafs on the board just after the four-minute mark to punctuate the game's first power play. He slipped into a seam between three Panthers penalty killers and scored off a pass from James van Riemsdyk.

Jokinen's man-advantage marker from the slot off a dish from Brad Boyes with 46 seconds left in the first evened the score.
