Recap: St. Louis vs. Detroit

St. Louis, MO (SportsNetwork.com) - Pavel Datsyuk's marker with 2.2 seconds left in overtime sent the Detroit Red Wings over the St. Louis Blues by a 3-2 count at Scottrade Center.

Datsyuk fired away from the inner arc of the left circle and his rising shot caught the crook between Brian Elliott's arm and body, then squeezed through and rippled the net inside the near post.

Joakim Andersson and Tomas Tatar also scored for the Red Wings, who have won four out of their last five. Petr Mrazek came up with a 25-save effort.

"It was huge to get both points here," Andersson said. "We're happy to get two points from (the Blues)."

David Backes and Alex Steen tallied for the Blues, whose five-game win streak came to a crashing halt despite earning a point. Elliott ended up making 21 stops.

"I thought they had too much offensive zone time," Steen said. "It felt like Detroit was a step quicker than us tonight and it cost us the game."

Detroit broke open the game with two goals a minute apart late in the second.

Andersson picked up his first of the year on a stuffer attempt from the right post at 18:04 and Tatar doubled the edge at 19:04 by flipping a Jonathan Ericsson rebound home from atop the crease.

Backes brought the hosts back to 2-1 on a power-play strike just shy of four minutes gone in the third.

The Blues kept pressing and tied the game with less than 48 seconds to play as Alex Pietrangelo's try from the left circle was deflected home in front by Steen.
