Recap: Tampa Bay vs. Calgary

Tampa, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Cedric Paquette scored his first two NHL goals and the Tampa Bay Lightning beat the Calgary Flames 5-2 on Thursday night to finish a perfect 4-0 homestand.

Brian Boyle, Tyler Johnson and Valtteri Filppula also scored and Ben Bishop made 29 saves in the win.

Jiri Hudler and Sean Monahan scored in Calgary's first loss in four games.

Flames goaltender Jonas Hiller also had a streak end. He gave up four goals on 32 shots and suffered his first regulation loss in his last eight appearances (6-1-1).

"I think we were forcing things," Flames defenseman Mark Giordano said. "They took advantage."

Paquette, playing in his seventh career game, did all of the work himself on his first goal by battling past Brandon Bollig near the end boards and muscling his way out front to beat Hiller 9:55 into the game.

The Flames tied the score 5 1/2 minutes later when Hudler bested Bishop to the far side with a wrist shot from the right circle on a 3-on-2 rush.

Paquette scored his second goal 1:01 into the middle period after Vladislav Namestnikov's try from the left side hit him in front of the net and he turned to beat Hiller through the legs.

"I knew I was able to score at this level," Paquette said.

The first penalty of the game, to Tampa Bay's Eric Brewer for hooking, led to two goals -- one for each team.

Boyle scored on a short-handed break to give the Lightning a 3-1 lead after stealing the puck from Flames defenseman Kris Russell near the Calgary blue line. Hiller stopped the first shot, but Boyle sent his own rebound through the goaltender's pads.

The Flames scored just 20 seconds later, at 4:22 of the second period, when Monahan picked up a rebound in the slot and fired the puck past Bishop, who was out of the net after an initial save.

Johnson buried a one-timer from the slot 40 seconds into the third period to give the Lightning a 4-2 lead and Filppula scored into an empty net with 2:10 remaining after the Flames pulled Hiller early.
