Recap: Vancouver vs. Dallas
Vancouver, BC (SportsNetwork.com) - The Dallas Stars have made themselves at home on the road, while the Vancouver Canucks continue to search for their offense.
Kari Lehtonen made 42 saves to backstop Dallas to a 2-1 win over the Canucks.
"On given nights your goaltender has to be big for you. (Lehtonen) was real big for us tonight," Stars head coach Lindy Ruff said.
Rookie Valeri Nichushkin and Erik Cole both scored in the Stars' sixth consecutive win as the visitor.
Roberto Luongo stopped 21 shots for Vancouver, which has managed one goal in each game during an 0-3-1 slide.
"We got to keep working hard, stay upbeat and not get down on yourself," said Canucks forward Daniel Sedin.
Cole finished off a 2-on-1 break by hammering home a feed from Cody Eakin 1:42 into the third period. His tally made it 2-0, but Henrik Sedin quickly responded on a Vancouver power play. The Canucks captain snuck in from the right side and buried a rebound at 3:06.
That was only the blemish in Lehtonen's sterling performance, which featured 20 saves in the second period.
Nichushkin, the No. 10 overall pick in this year's draft, buried Tyler Seguin's no-look, backhand pass from behind the Vancouver net near the midway point of the first period.Game Notes
