New York, NY (Sports Network) - The New York Rangers announced Thursday that captain Ryan Callahan will miss approximately 3-to-4 weeks with a broken thumb.

The 28-year-old suffered the injury during Wednesday's 2-0 road win against the Washington Capitals. He collected three goals in five games for the Blueshirts this year.

New York also recalled forward Darroll Powe and goaltender Jason Missiaen from the AHL's Hartford Wolf Pack and assigned goaltender Cam Talbot to Hartford.

Powe totaled one goal in four games for Hartford this season. The Princeton product failed to record a point in 42 games between Minnesota and the Rangers last season.

Talbot was recalled from the minors on Tuesday and served as Henrik Lundqvist's backup in Washington.
