Flames acquire Russell from Blues

Calgary, AB (Sports Network) - The Flames have acquired defenseman Kris Russell from the St. Louis Blues in exchange for Calgary's fifth-round pick in the 2014 draft.

Russell played in 33 games with St. Louis this past season, recording one goal and six assists.

In 364 career games with the Blue Jackets and Blues, Russell has 23 goals and 72 assists to go along with 145 penalty minutes. He has added one goal and four assists in 13 playoff contests.

In addition, Calgary signed forwards Corban Knight and Greg Nemisz and goaltender Karri Ramo.
