Renton, WA ( - The Seattle Seahawks have activated wide receiver Percy Harvin from the physically unable to perform list.

Harvin underwent surgery for an ailing hip in early August and has yet to play a game for Seattle this season, which sits atop the NFC West with a 9-1 record after defeating the Atlanta Falcons 33-10 on Sunday.

The Seahawks traded for Harvin in an offseason trade with Minnesota. He played in just nine games with the Vikings in 2012 due to a severely sprained ankle, hauling in 62 passes for 677 yards and three touchdowns, while adding 96 yards and one touchdown rushing.

The former first-round pick out of the University of Florida has 280 career catches for 3,302 yards with 20 touchdowns and averaged 6.4 yards per rush on 107 carries with four scores -- all with Minnesota. He has also helped in the return game, returning a kickoff for a touchdown in each of his first four seasons, totaling five in his career.

To make room for Harvin on the active 53-man roster, Seattle released defensive tackle Michael Brooks.
