Packers bring back Neal, Quarless

Green Bay, WI ( - The Green Bay Packers have re-signed edge rusher Mike Neal and tight end Andrew Quarless.

Neal, who plays both linebacker and defensive end in Dom Capers' defensive scheme, is coming off a career year in 2013, appearing in all 16 games, with 10 starts, recording 61 tackles and five sacks. The former second-round pick out of Purdue also added his first NFL interception and a forced fumble.

In 36 career games with the Pack, Neal has posted 89 tackles, 10 1/2 sacks, an interception and two forced fumbles.

Quarless, meanwhile, also amassed career highs in several categories this past season after missing the entire 2012 campaign due to a knee injury. The Penn State product played in all 16 games in 2013 and caught 32 passes for 312 yards and two touchdowns.

In 39 career outings with Green Bay, Quarless has snared 56 passes for 586 yards and three scores.
