Buffalo, NY (Sports Network) - Buffalo Bills safety Jairus Byrd reportedly wants to be traded.

According to the Buffalo News, which cited an executive from another NFL club and an agent not employed by the player, Byrd and his agent are trying to engineer a trade before the Oct. 29 deadline.

Byrd, a two-time Pro Bowl selection, is unhappy because contract negotiations on a long-term deal have stalled. He was hit with the franchise tag earlier this year and is set to make $6.9 million this season.

Complicating the issue is that Byrd is also battling through an injury, plantar fasciitis in his foot.

Byrd has started 57 of 62 games since joining the Bills as a second-round pick in the 2009 draft. He is tied for third in the NFL with 18 interceptions since 2009 and last year tied for the AFC lead with five picks.
