San Antonio, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - The San Antonio Spurs will have Patty Mills back in the fold when the reigning NBA champions attempt to defend their title in the upcoming season, with the team announcing Saturday that it has re-signed the valued reserve guard.

The Spurs did not release terms of the agreement, though previous reports indicated it was a three-year deal worth approximately $12 million.

Mills played a key role on a San Antonio bench corps that averaged an NBA-best 45.1 points per game in 2013-14, producing 10.2 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 81 contests during the regular season. The five-year veteran shot 42.5 percent from 3-point range and reached double-figure points in 37 games.

The native Australian is expected to be sidelined for the start of the 2014-15 campaign after recently undergoing surgery to repair a torn rotator cuff in his right shoulder.

San Antonio also announced it has signed forward Kyle Anderson, the club's first-round pick in the 2014 draft, to a rookie contract.

One of the more versatile players in this year's draft class, the 6-foot-9 Anderson averaged 14.6 points, 8.8 rebounds, 6.5 assists and 1.8 steals as a sophomore at UCLA in 2013-14. The 20-year-old became the first Bruin since the legendary Bill Walton in 1973-74 to accumulate at least 10 points, five rebounds and five assists per game in a single season.

The Spurs selected Anderson with the final choice (No. 30 overall) in the first round.
