Los Angeles, CA ( - In need of some help to bolster their injury-plagued roster, the Los Angeles Clippers signed veteran swingman Stephen Jackson on Tuesday.

Jackson, who hasn't played in the NBA since being waived by San Antonio just prior to the start of last season's playoffs, averaged 6.2 points and 2.8 rebounds over 55 games with the Spurs in 2012-13. The 13-year pro owns career averages of 15.3 points, 3.9 rebounds and 3.1 assists over 849 regular-season games and has appeared in 72 postseason contests during his NBA tenure.

The 35-year-old's addition was made necessary by injuries to wing players J.J. Redick, Matt Barnes and rookie Reggie Bullock. Redick is expected to be sidelined well into January by a fractured hand and a torn ulnar collateral ligament in his elbow, while Barnes hasn't played since Nov. 18 due to a retinal tear.

This will be the eighth team for the 35-year-old Jackson, who has had previous stops with the New Jersey Nets, San Antonio, Atlanta, Indiana, Golden State, Charlotte and Milwaukee. He won a championship ring with the Spurs during the 2002-03 campaign.
