New Orleans, LA (SportsNetwork.com) - The New Orleans Pelicans will be without sixth man Tyreke Evans for 1-to-2 weeks after the swingman was diagnosed with a sprained ankle.
Evans, who joined New Orleans following a trade from Sacramento this summer, has been playing through a sprained left ankle for the bulk of the season but will require some time to heal after leaving Friday's 109-95 loss to the Thunder.
Evans missed six preseason games with the same injury.
The former Rookie of the Year has struggled adapting to his new bench role with the Pelicans, averaging a career-low 11.8 points per game in 19 appearances. Evans started 247 of 257 games in four seasons with the Kings.
