El Segundo, CA ( - The Los Angeles Lakers signed guard Manny Harris to a second 10-day contract prior to Sunday's game against the New York Knicks.

Harris averaged 6.4 points, 3.6 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 20.9 minutes in five games after initially joining the Lakers on Jan. 16.

Prior to being signed, the third-year pro had been playing for the Los Angeles Defenders in the NBA Developmental League and averaged a league-best 30.6 points along with 6.5 rebounds and 3.7 assists in 13 starts for the Lakers' D- League affiliate.

Harris' stay was necessitated by a rash of injuries to the Lakers' backcourt, with Kobe Bryant and fellow guards Steve Nash, Steve Blake, Jordan Farmar and Xavier Henry all currently sidelined.
