Chicago, IL (Sports Network) - The Chicago White Sox have placed outfielder Dayan Viciedo on the 15-day disabled list because of a strained left oblique.

The move is retroactive to April 19.

Viciedo is batting .229 with a pair of homers and five runs batted in through 13 games this season. He was hurt during a swing in the eighth inning of Thursday's game against Toronto.

The White Sox recalled outfielder Blake Tekotte from Triple-A Charlotte to fill the roster spot. Tekotte hit .222 in 19 spring training games.
