Chicago, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - Chicago White Sox right fielder Avisail Garcia underwent successful surgery Tuesday morning to repair a torn labrum and avulsion fracture in his left shoulder.
Garcia sustained the injury attempting to make a diving catch on April 9 at Colorado. He will remain in Chicago with the club while undergoing approximately six months of rehabilitation.
The 22-year-old outfielder is expected to be available at the start of spring training in 2015.
Garcia batted .267 with two home runs and four RBI in eight games prior to the injury.
