Chicago, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Mark Trumbo has been placed on the 15-day disabled list because of a stress fracture in his left foot.

The move is retroactive to Tuesday, April 22.

Trumbo last played on Monday against the Cubs and underwent an X-ray on Tuesday before returning to Phoenix for further tests. An MRI exam revealed the fracture, along with plantar fasciitis, which he has been dealing with since spring training.

In 21 games this season, Trumbo is batting .210 with seven homers and 19 runs batted in. He is tied for the NL lead in home runs and second in RBI.

Arizona acquired Trumbo in December from the Angels as part of a three-team deal with the Chicago White Sox. He spent his first four big league seasons with the Angels and posted career highs of 34 homers and 100 RBI last year.

The Diamondbacks recalled outfielder Roger Kieschnick from Triple-A Reno to fill the vacant roster spot. Kieschnick was claimed off waivers from San Francisco on April 4 and was hitting .281 in 18 games for Reno. He hit .202 in 38 games for the Giants last year.
