Red Sox recall Betts, option Bradley Jr.

Boston, MA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Boston Red Sox recalled outfielder/infielder Mookie Betts from Triple-A Pawtucket prior to Monday's game against the Angels.

Betts returns for his third stint with the Red Sox this season. In his previous two stints, he played in 13 games and hit .244 (10-for-41) with two doubles, one home run and two RBI.

To make room for Betts on the 25-man roster, Boston optioned outfielder Jackie Bradley Jr. to Pawtucket. He hit .216 with 19 doubles, one home run, 30 RBI and 45 runs scored in 112 games.
