Lake Buena Vista, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - The New York Mets confirmed their four-year contract agreement with outfielder Curtis Granderson during Monday's opening day of the Baseball Winter Meetings.

The New York Post reported Friday that the Mets lured the former Yankees' slugger across town with a deal worth a total of $60 million in the team's first major free-agent signing of the offseason.

Granderson will be formally introduced during a press conference Tuesday at Walt Disney World's Swan and Dolphin Resort, the headquarters of this year's Winter Meetings.

A three-time All-Star who belted 84 home runs with 225 RBI and 239 runs scored over a two-year stretch with the Yankees from 2011-12, Granderson was limited to 61 games with the Bronx Bombers last season due to forearm and pinkie fractures caused by being hit by pitches. He batted just .229 with seven homers during the injury-marred campaign.

"We are excited to add Curtis' power to the middle of the lineup," said Mets general manager Sandy Alderson. "He is a dynamic offensive player who has had success in New York."

For his career, Granderson owns a .261 average with 217 homers, 199 doubles and 606 RBI over nearly 1,200 games with the Yankees and Detroit Tigers. The 32-year-old has surpassed 20 or more homers in six of the last seven seasons, while his rate of one homer per every 15.3 at-bats over the past three years is the fifth-best in the majors over that time frame.
