Recap: Miami vs. Atlanta

Miami, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Marcell Ozuna went 4-for-5 with four RBI and two runs scored in the Miami Marlins' 11-3 victory over the Atlanta Braves in the opener of a three-game series.

Giancarlo Stanton went 2-for-5 with two RBI and a run scored for the Marlins, who pounded out a season-high 18 hits. Donovan Solano went 4-for-5 with an RBI and three runs scored.

"That was fun to watch," Marlins manager Mike Redmond said of the offense.

Miami starter Jarred Cosart (4-1) allowed three runs on five hits while striking out six over 7 2/3 innings. The right-hander improved to 3-0 over his last three starts against Atlanta.

Freddie Freeman hit a solo homer for the Braves, who have lost three of four. Aaron Harang (10-10) gave up six runs on 10 hits over 3 2/3 innings.

"These are the nights where you have to bite your lip and get through it," Harang said.

The Marlins never looked back after scoring two runs in the first. Christian Yelich led off with a double down the left-field line, moved to third on Solano's single and scored on Casey McGehee's single to left-center field. Ozuna followed with an RBI single to left-center field.

Miami plated two more runs in the third. Stanton singled, stole second and crossed the plate on Ozuna's double to left-center field. Ozuna then raced home on Justin Bour's double to right-center field.

The Marlins took a 6-0 lead on Stanton's two-run double in the fourth.

Meanwhile, Cosart retired 13 straight batters before giving up a two-out double to Jason Heyward in the sixth.

Solano added an RBI single in the sixth.

The Braves finally got on the board in the seventh when Freeman homered to left-center field.

But the Marlins responded with two runs in the bottom half. Jarrod Saltalamacchia and Adeiny Hechavarria hit consecutive RBI singles off Juan Jaime.

Each team scored two runs in the eighth. Heyward's RBI groundout and Andrelton Simmons' RBI single cut the gap to 9-3.

Gus Schlosser, who was recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett before the game, loaded the bases in the home half. Ozuna then hit a two-run double off the wall in center.
