Recap: Oakland vs. Houston

Oakland, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Josh Donaldson went 3-for-4 with two doubles, a home run and three RBI to lead the Oakland Athletics to a 4-1 win over the Houston Astros for a three-game series sweep.

Jed Lowrie went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and Eric Sogard added two hits for the Oakland, which has won seven of eight.

A's starter Jesse Chavez (1-0) struck out six in six frames, allowing one run and three walks. Luke Gregerson sat down the side in order in the ninth for his third save of the season.

Marwin Gonzalez provided all the offense for Houston going 2-for-4 with a solo home run. Jose Altuve added a double for the only other extra base hit for the Astros, who have lost seven straight.

Houston starter Brad Peacock (0-2) fanned four through five innings, surrendering two runs on five hits with three walks.
