Giants re-sign LHP Lopez to 3-year deal

San Francisco, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - The San Francisco Giants re-signed left-handed pitcher Javier Lopez to a three-year contract on Tuesday.

The 36-year-old southpaw went 4-2 with one save and a career-best 1.83 earned run average in a team-high 69 relief appearances for the Giants last season.

Since being acquired by the club from the Pirates at the trade deadline in 2010, Lopez has gone 14-4 with a 2.26 ERA in 236 relief appearances.

An 11-year veteran, Lopez has compiled a 27-13 record with a 3.64 ERA and 13 saves in 629 games with Colorado, Arizona, Boston, Pittsburgh and San Francisco.
