Oakland, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Oakland Athletics activated outfielder Craig Gentry from the 15-day disabled list Saturday and designated outfielder Sam Fuld for assignment.

Gentry was sent to the DL on March 29, retroactive to March 21, with a lower back strain. He started a rehab assignment at Triple-A Sacramento on Monday and went 6-for-12 with a double and four RBI in three games.

The 30-year-old outfielder spent his first five big league seasons with the Texas Rangers before being acquired by Oakland in the offseason.

Fuld made Oakland's Opening Day roster and batted .200 with two triples, a home run and four RBI in seven games.
