Minneapolis, MN (Sports Network) - The Minnesota Twins optioned pitcher Scott Diamond and center fielder Aaron Hicks to their Triple-A affiliate in Rochester following a 7-2 loss to the Kansas City Royals.

Diamond surrendered seven runs -- six earned -- on nine hits and three walks over five innings Thursday against the Royals for Minnesota, which dropped its fourth consecutive contest.

Diamond fell to 5-10 to go with a 5.52 ERA on the season.

Hicks was hitting just .192 with eight homers and 27 RBI over 81 games this season.

In other news, the Twins will recall outfielder Oswaldo Arcia from Rochester.
