Jupiter, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - The Miami Marlins released infielder Ty Wigginton on Tuesday.

Wigginton was a non-roster invitee to training camp. He hit just .147 with two RBI in 34 at-bats this spring training.

The 36-year-old, 12-year veteran has a career batting average of .261 with 169 homers and 594 RBI, playing for the Mets, Pirates, Rays, Astros, Orioles, Rockies, Phillies and Cardinals.
