Baltimore, MD (Sports Network) - The Baltimore Orioles placed pitcher Wei-Yin Chen on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right oblique prior to Tuesday's game against the San Diego Padres.

Chen left Sunday's game against the Minnesota Twins due to the injury after throwing five shutout innings. The left-hander is 3-3 with a 3.04 ERA in his first eight starts this season.

Alex Burnett was recalled from Triple-A Norfolk to take Chen's spot on the roster. He pitched one scoreless inning of relief for the O's on May 9.
