Decatur, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - Madison Pressel birdied the first playoff hole on Sunday to defeat Ashley Tait and win the Decatur-Forsyth Classic, the lone major on the Symetra Tour.
Pressel carded an even-par 72 to finish the tournament at 6-under-par 210. Tait, the second-round leader, stumbled to a bogey and a double-bogey over her final four holes en route to a 2-over 74 to cause the playoff.
They then returned to the par-4 18th and both players found the green with their second shots.
Pressel went first and converted her birdie effort before Tait failed to roll in hers to give Pressel her first career victory.
Pressel's up-and-down final round included three bogeys and three birdies.
Hye-Min Kim (68) and Ashley Sholer (70) shared third place at 4-under, while Cheyenne Woods (72), Pinrath Loomboonruang (71), Therese Koelbaek (71), Shannon Fish (71), Laura Gonzalez Escallon (72) and Lee Lopez (74) tied for fifth at minus-3.
