Recap: Idaho vs. South Alabama

Moscow, ID (SportsNetwork.com) - Brandon Bridge accounted for 267 total yards and two touchdowns as the South Alabama Jaguars easily defeated the Idaho Vandals, 34-10, in a Sun Belt Conference bout at the Kibbie Dome.

Bridge completed 15-of-25 pass attempts for 196 yards and rushed for 71 yards for South Alabama (2-2, 1-1 Sun Belt). Bridge's lone blemish was an interception in the third quarter. Jay Jones contributed 108 yards and a touchdown on the ground.

Matt Linehan connected on 25-of-40 pass attempts for 239 yards and a touchdown but was also intercepted twice for Idaho (0-4, 0-2). Joshua McCain and Richard Montgomery each had eight catches, with McCain finishing with 72 yards and a touchdown and Montgomery gathering 62 yards.

A 51-yard touchdown pass from Bridge to Claude Garrett put South Alabama ahead, 7-0, late in the first quarter.

The Jaguars added to their advantage on the Vandals' ensuing drive when Montell Garner returned an interception 59 yards for a touchdown

Grant McLaurin booted field goals of 19 yards and 44 yards in the second quarter as the Jaguars took a 20-0 lead into intermission.

The Jaguars came out of the break firing, scoring on a 54-yard touchdown run from Bridge less than two minutes into the second half.

Idaho finally got on the scoreboard midway through the third quarter with a 37-yard field goal from Austin Rehkow.

Less than a minute later the Vandals scored again, this time on a 10-yard touchdown pass from Linehan to McCain.

The final score of the contest came when Jones found the end zone from 18 yards out midway through the fourth quarter.

South Alabama had a 429-269 advantage in total yards, including a 233-30 edge on the ground. The Jaguars also recorded seven sacks.
