Recap: Central Mich vs. Western Mich

Mount Pleasant, MI (SportsNetwork.com) - Zach Terrell completed 15-of-20 passes for 222 yards and three touchdowns, as the Western Michigan Broncos outlasted Central Michigan, 32-20, in a Mid-American Conference clash at Kelly/Shorts Stadium.

Corey Davis finished with nine catches for 104 yards and two TDs, while teammate Daniel Braverman had five catches for 117 yards for the Broncos (8-3, 6-1 MAC), who remain in the hunt for the West Division crown thanks to their fifth straight victory.

The Chippewas (7-5, 5-3) saw their winning streak halted at three in a row. Cooper Rush threw for 248 yards and two scores, although he was also intercepted three times in the loss.

CMU marched 78 yards in eight plays on the game's opening possession, which ended with an 18-yard touchdown pass from Rush to Deon Butler, who finished with 83 yards on seven catches.

Later in the first quarter, Rush capped a 10-play, 58-yard drive with a six- yard TD pass to Ben McCord to make it a 14-0 game.

The Broncos responded with an 11-play, 72-yard drive, which Jarvion Franklin finished off with a two-yard touchdown run. Alec Moulton ran in the two-point conversion to cut the deficit to 14-8.

WMU claimed a 15-14 lead midway through the second quarter on a nine-yard touchdown pass from Terrell to Eric Boyden.

CMU regained the lead with a 43-yard field goal from Brian Eavey on the ensuing series, but WMU answered right back with a 33-yard scoring strike from Terrell to Davis just before the half to head into the locker room with a 22-17 advantage.

A 19-yard field goal by WMU's Andrew Haldeman accounted for the only points of the third quarter.

Eavey trimmed the margin to 25-20 with a 37-yard field goal at the 9:57 mark of the fourth quarter.

But four minutes later, Terrell found Davis again, this time for a seven-yard TD to make it a two-possession game. That decisive score was set up by a muffed punt deep in Chippewas territory.

CMU's seven second-half drives produced a field goal, two punts, three interceptions and a fumble.
