Recap: Ball State vs. Eastern Mich
Muncie, IN (SportsNetwork.com) - Jahwan Edwards rushed for 131 yards and a touchdown to lead the Ball State Cardinals to a 45-30 victory over the Eastern Michigan Eagles in a Mid-American Conference bout at Scheumann Stadium.
Jack Milas finished with 169 yards and two touchdowns on 11-of-17 passing for Ball State (4-7, 3-4 MAC), but he missed the second half with an apparent wrist injury. Ozzie Mann took over and threw for 48 yards and a score in the second half.
Reginald Ball threw for 409 yards and three touchdowns on 36-of-49 passing for Eastern Michigan (2-9, 1-6), which has lost five straight. Bell also picked up 101 yards on the ground. Dustin Creel had 152 yards on 14 receptions and Tyreese Russell finished with 113 yards and a touchdown on eight catches.
Milas got the scoring started with a three-yard touchdown run early in the first quarter.
Eastern Michigan responded with a 29-yard field goal from Dylan Mulder.
Beginning with a 13-yard touchdown pass from Milas to Corey Lacanaria, the Cardinals then scored 28 unanswered points. The other scores came on a 29-yard touchdown run from Edwards, a 33-yard touchdown pass from Milas to Jordan Hogue and a five-yard fumble return by Ben Ingle.
The Eagles put a halt to the scoring binge with a 10-yard touchdown pass from Bell to Russell.
Mulder then added field goals of 25 and 36 yards before the end of the third quarter.
Ball State got a 32-yard field goal from Scott Secor and a five-yard touchdown pass from Mann to Dylan Curry to take a 45-16 lead.
Bell did throw two more touchdown passes, one for one yard to Darius Jackson and the other from six yards out to Kris Strange, but it wasn't enough.Game Notes
