Recap: Bowling Green vs. Ball State
Bowling Green, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - Ozzie Mann threw for 286 yards and three touchdowns to power the Ball State Cardinals to a 41-24 road win over the Bowling Green Falcons in a Mid-American Conference showdown at Doyt Perry Stadium.
Mann completed 20-of-29 pass attempts for Ball State (5-7, 4-4 MAC). KeVonn Mabon tallied 119 yards and a score on six receptions and Jahwan Edwards racked up 165 yards and two touchdowns on the ground.
Travis Greene (159 yards) and Fred Coppet (140) both had a touchdown and more than 100 yards rushing for Bowling Green (7-5, 5-3). James Knapke registered 140 yards on 18-of-27 passing.
Bowling Green got on the scoreboard quickly, as Greene scored on a 75-yard touchdown on the first play from scrimmage of the opening quarter.
The Cardinals responded with a 62-yard touchdown pass from Mann to Mabon.
On the ensuing kickoff, Clint Stephens escaped for a 96-yard touchdown return.
The Falcons added to their lead with a two-yard touchdown run from Coppet just minutes later.
Ball State rallied in the second quarter, with a 35-yard field goal from Scott Secor and two touchdown passes from Mann. The first was a 25-yard field strike to Chris Shillings and the second was a 16-yard throw to Jordan Williams.
Secor kicked a 33-yard field goal early in the third quarter and Tyler Tate responded with a 38-yarder for the Falcons.
Edwards put the game away for the Cardinals, with touchdown runs of one and 13 yards in the third and fourth quarter, respectively.
Ball State had a slight edge in total yards (485-454) but a more than 16- minute advantage in time of possession.Game Notes
