Recap: Oklahoma State vs. Texas

Stillwater, OK (SportsNetwork.com) - Tyrone Swoopes threw for 305 yards and two touchdowns, as the Texas Longhorns defeated the Oklahoma State Cowboys 28-7, in a Big 12 Conference clash at Boone Pickens Stadium.

Swoopes completed 24-of-33 pass attempts for the Longhorns (6-5, 5-3 Big 12), who won their third straight and became bowl eligible. John Harris caught nine passes for 117 yards a touchdown. Johnathan Gray picked up 81 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries.

Daxx Garman threw for 158 yards and a touchdown but was intercepted once on 17-of-29 passing for the Cowboys (5-5, 3-4), who have dropped four straight.

Midway through the opening quarter, Swoopes found Harris for a 19-yard touchdown pass. A two-point conversion attempt failed, making it 6-0.

A few minutes later, Gray extended the Longhorns' lead on a 6-yard touchdown run.

Just over five minutes into the second quarter, Nick Rose padded the Texas lead on a 51-yard field goal. In the final minute of the half, he converted a 34-yarder, making it 19-0 at the break.

Midway through the third quarter, Rose stayed hot, converting another field goal from 44 yards out.

Just under six minutes into the fourth quarter, the Cowboys finally got on the scoreboard after an 8-yard touchdown pass from Garman to James Washington.

With just under five minutes left to play, Swoopes extended the lead again, finding Armanti Foreman on a 45-yard touchdown pass.

The Texas offense accumulated 430 total yards, while the defense held the home side to just 192 yards.
