Recap: Baylor vs. Kansas

Waco, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - Bryce Petty had the Baylor offense rolling again on Saturday, throwing three touchdown passes in the 12th-ranked Bears' 60-14 drubbing of Kansas.

Petty completed 15-of-27 passes for 277 yards for Baylor (7-1, 4-1 Big 12), which won six in a row to open the season before falling to West Virginia two weeks ago. Corey Coleman made the most of his three catches, finishing with 167 yards and two touchdowns.

Devin Chafin paced a lethal ground attack for the Bears, carrying 14 times for 112 yards and a pair of scores, while starter Shock Linwood gained 81 yards and a touchdown.

Baylor has won 14 straight games at home and improved to 23-1 in Waco since the start of the 2011 season.

Michael Cummings and Nick Harwell hooked up for a pair of touchdowns to account for the Jayhawks' 14 points. Kansas (2-6, 0-5) has lost all five of its Big 12 games by at least a touchdown.

Baylor struck three times in the opening quarter, with a pair of short TD runs and a 72-yard strike accounting for 20 points.

On the first play of Baylor's second possession, Petty and Coleman connected for a 72-yard touchdown. Shawn Oakman then recovered a Kansas fumble to set up Chafin's 1-yard touchdown run. After the Jayhawks broke through on Harwell's 28-yard touchdown reception, Linwood found the end zone to make it 20-7.

Chris Callahan, who missed the extra point on Baylor's second TD, made three field goals in a four minute window early in the second quarter. His 27-yarder and a pair of kicks from 33 extended the margin to 29-7.

Later in the second, Chafin scored his second rushing touchdown and Callahan drilled a 37-yard field goal to send the Bears into halftime with a cozy 39-7 lead.

Coleman found the end zone again early in the third when he shook off a defensive pass interference penalty and hauled in a heave from Petty near the 5-yard line. With a defensive back draped all over him, Coleman muscled his way over the goal line standing up.

Petty's final series midway through the third saw him find Levi Norwood for a 10-yard touchdown. Harwell's 1-yard TD late in the third made it 53-14, and Seth Russell, who relieved Petty, ran one in from four yards to account for the final margin.
