Troy, AL (SportsNetwork.com) - Anthony Boone passed for 268 yards and a touchdown, and carried the ball nine times for 47 yards and two scores as the Duke Blue Devils outlasted the Troy Trojans, 34-17, in a non-conference tilt at Veterans Memorial Stadium Saturday.

Boone completed 27-of-41 pass attempts in the contest for Duke (2-0), which hosts Kansas next weekend. Jamison Crowder hauled in seven receptions for 70 yards, and Issac Blakeney registered five catches for a team-high 90 yards and a score.

Brandon Silvers completed 19-of-27 passing and was sacked three times for Troy (0-2). Brandon Burks carried the ball 11 times for 52 yards to lead the Trojans, and B.J. Chitty caught five passes for 48 yards in the loss.

Silvers put Troy up less than six minutes into the contest with a two-yard touchdown run, giving the Trojans an early 7-0 advantage. Duke kicker Ross Martin tacked on a 24-yard field goal for the Blue Devils later in the period, cutting Troy's lead to 7-3 at the end of the first.

Just six seconds into the second quarter, Troy built on its lead with a Jordan Chunn one-yard scoring run to give the Trojans a 14-3 edge. Duke took over in the rest of the half, though.

The Blue Devils scored the next three touchdowns, started by a Boone 30-yard run with 10:42 left to play in the half.

Duke took its first lead on a two-yard touchdown pass from Thomas Sirk, who connected with David Reeves to give the Blue Devils the 17-14 lead with 6:06 left to play.

Boone connected with Blakeney on a 49-yard scoring connection with 3:24 remaining in the half, which gave Duke the 24-14 halftime edge.

Troy finally got back on the board when Ryan Kay connected on a 29-yard field goal attempt with 4:32 left on the third-quarter clock. But Boone plunged into the end zone from five yards out with 1:48 remaining in the period to put Duke up 31-17.

Martin drilled another field goal attempt, this one from 48 yards out, with 10:53 left in the game to push Duke's lead to 34-17. That field goal would serve as the final points in the game.

Duke outgained Troy offensively in the contest, 452 yards to 396, with a 270 to 238 advantage in passing. Duke linebacker David Helton recorded 15 tackles to lead all defensive players, adding .5 tackles for loss.
