Recap: Western Mich vs. Buffalo

Kalamazoo, MI (SportsNetwork.com) - Led by Joe Licata's three touchdown passes and a strong defensive effort, the Buffalo Bulls blanked the Western Michigan Broncos, 33-0, in Mid-American Conference action at Waldo Stadium.

Licata finished 11-of-21 passing with 124 yards and went without an interception for Buffalo (4-2, 2-0 MAC), which has won four straight. Brandon Oliver led all rushers with 128 yards on 19 carries, while James Potts added 91 yards on the ground. Fred Lee was the top receiver for the Bulls with 88 yards and a touchdown on four catches.

The Broncos (0-7, 0-3) showed why they are a winless team with a lackluster offensive output. Zach Terrell was 16-of-34 passing for 164 yards with two interceptions and two fumbles. Dareyon Chance was the home team's best runner with 54 yards on nine attempts. Corey Davis led all receivers with eight catches and 92 yards.

The Bulls opened up the game with a touchdown on their first drive. Devin Campbell rushed for a one-yard score to put the visitors up 6-0 after the PAT was blocked. It was the only score of the first half.

Buffalo came out strong to start the second half by scoring on five consecutive drives. The first ended in a Patrick Clarke 51-yard field goal, which came after a Terrell interception

The Bulls capitalized on another Terrell turnover when Licata hit Mason Schreck for a two-yard touchdown pass with 8:48 remaining in the third quarter.

Buffalo continued to rack up the points as Licata connected with Fred Lee on a 28-yard touchdown throw later in the third.

The visitors struck again on a 14-play, 60-yard drive that culminated in a two-yard touchdown strike from Licata to Alex Neutz.

Clarke finished off the fifth straight scoring drive with a 36-yard field goal in the fourth quarter to add to the Bulls' comfortable advantage.

WMU tallied just 202 yards of offense on the afternoon and converted only 2- of-12 third-down attempts. Buffalo held nearly a 15-minute advantage in time of possession.
