Recap: Tennessee vs. Kentucky

Knoxville, TN (Sports Network) - Tyler Bray threw for 293 yards and four touchdowns in leading the Tennessee Volunteers to a 37-17 victory over the Kentucky Wildcats in the regular season finale at Neyland Stadium.

Bray completed 20-of-34 pass attempts and had each of his touchdown passes go to a different receiver for Tennessee (5-7, 1-7 SEC) which also earned its first conference victory. Marlin Lane led the team on the ground with 75 yards on 10 carries.

Jalen Whitlow completed 29-of-45 pass attempts for 225 yards and a touchdown but was sacked four times for Kentucky (2-10, 0-8). La'Rod king brought in 10 receptions for 78 yards and Jonathan George had 59 yards and a touchdown on the ground.

Tennessee got on the board first with a 21-yard touchdown pass from Bray to Zach Rogers less than three minutes into the first quarter.

Kentucky responded with a one-yard touchdown pass from Whitlow to D.J. Warren at the end of an 11-play, 75-yard drive.

Less than two minutes later Tennessee reclaimed the lead, 14-7, with a two- yard touchdown run from A.J. Johnson.

Bray added to the Volunteer lead with a 42-yard touchdown pass to Justin Hunter at the beginning of the second half. Michael Palardy's extra point attempt was blocked.

George kept the Wildcats within striking distance at the half with a 45-yard touchdown run. The Volunteers led 20-14 at the break.

The Wildcats got their only points of the second half on a 29-yard field goal from Craig McIntosh midway through the third quarter.

Bray tossed a pair of touchdown passes, one for 29 yards to Mychal Rivera, and the other a 21-yard strike to Cordarrelle Patterson as the Volunteers pulled away in the second half.

Palardy concluded the scoring with a 33-yard field goal in the fourth quarter.

Tennessee had a 457-412 edge in total offense but did suffer a nearly 10- minute deficit in time of possession.
