Edinburg, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - The Western Athletic Conference announced on Friday the suspension of Texas-Pan American head men's basketball coach Dan Hipsher for one game.

Hipsher was given the ban due to unspecified violations of conference sportsmanship policy in UTPA's 67-53 loss to Utah Valley on Thursday.

"We accept the ruling of the Western Athletic Conference, and as a result, Dan will not coach his team Saturday," UTPA director of athletics Chris King said. "We all look forward to putting the incident behind us. Our focus now is on Saturday night against Bakersfield and the remainder of the conference season. Dan continues to have my full support moving forward."

The 6-16 Broncs take on Cal State-Bakersfield on Saturday.
