Recap: Arizona State vs. Miami-Florida
Anaheim, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Rion Brown's dunk with 34 seconds remaining broke the seventh tie of the afternoon and gave the Miami Hurricanes just enough room to eventually come up with a 60-57 win over the Arizona State Sun Devils in the fifth-place game of the Wooden Legacy at the Honda Center.
Brown finished with nine points for the Hurricanes (5-3), as did Garrius Adams who added a free-throw in the final seconds to give Miami the three-point advantage. Leading the way on offense was Davon Reed with 19 points, followed by James Kelly with 11.
The Sun Devils (7-2) were paced by Jordan Bachynski with 20 points, 15 rebounds and four blocked shots, all of which were game highs, while Jermaine Marshall accounted for 14 points on only 4-of-12 shooting from the field.
ASU shot an even 50.0 percent from the field in the first half, including 5- of-11 behind the 3-point line, allowing the team to move out to a late 10- point advantage before heading into the break with a 30-24 lead.
After shooting only 29.2 percent from the floor through the first 20 minutes, Miami responded with 56.5 percent accuracy after intermission in order to keep the game close before pulling out the victory.
The Sun Devils finished the day shooting 39.2 percent from the floor, compared to 42.6 percent for the Hurricanes.Game Notes
