Recap: South Alabama vs. Wright State
Mobile, AL (SportsNetwork.com) - Augustine Rubit registered a double-double with 23 points and 12 rebounds as the South Alabama Jaguars picked up a 74-70 win over the Wright State Raiders as part of the CBE Hall of Fame Classic at the Mitchell Center.
Also scoring in double figures for the Jaguars (3-2) were Ken Williams and Barrington Stevens with 13 points apiece in the victory.
The Raiders (3-3) were paced by AJ Pacher with 18 points, shooting a perfect 7-of-7 from the floor, while Cole Darling and Miles Dixon pitched in with 11 points each.
USA was on fire in the first half, shooting a stellar 66.7 percent from the field, including 7-of-13 behind the 3-point line, yet the Jags led by only eight at the break, 39-31.
In the second half South Alabama dropped all the way down to just 37.5 percent from the floor, but made up for it with 14-of-16 at the free-throw line.
Wright State outscored the hosts in the paint, 38-20, but the team allowed the Jaguars to connect on 10-of-20 beyond the arc overall.Game Notes
