Recap: Ill-Chicago vs. Wright State
Chicago, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - A.J. Pacher finished with 16 points and eight rebounds as the Wright State Raiders defeated the Illinois-Chicago Flames, 68-61, in Horizon League action at UIC Pavilion.
Matt Vest added 11 points and four assists for Wright State (18-13, 10-6 HL) as it clinched the No. 3 seed in the upcoming conference tournament.
Kelsey Barlow paced the Flames (6-24, 1-15) with 16 points, Jordan Harks had 13 points and Pat Birt chimed in with 12 points.
Birt scored 10 of his points in the opening period to help the hosts take a 33-32 lead into the intermission. The Raiders connected on 5-of-10 shots from behind the 3-point line in the first half, but attempted only three free throws and committed 10 turnovers.
UIC was limited to 22.2 percent efficiency from the floor, including a 2-of-11 clip from beyond the arc in the second stanza. The Raiders converted 14-of-23 attempts at the charity stripe over the final 20 minutes of the contest to arrive at the seven-point decision.
Wright State held a 33-28 advantage in total rebounds and outscored UIC, 21-6, from 3-point range.Game Notes
