Recap: Drexel vs. James Madison
Philadelphia, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - Chris Fouch poured in 26 points as the Drexel Dragons coasted to a 78-60 decision over the James Madison Dukes in a Colonial Athletic Association matchup at the Daskalakis Center.
Frantz Massenat added 16 points and four assists for Drexel (13-10, 5-5 CAA), while Rodney Williams registered a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds.
Charles Cooke converted 8-of-10 free-throw attempts en route to a team-high 18 points for the Dukes (8-16, 3-7). Ron Curry chipped in 17 points and Andrey Semenov scored 12 points as JMU suffered its third consecutive setback.
The Dragons took a narrow, 36-35, lead into halftime after they shot 52.2 percent from the floor in the opening period. JMU kept it close by sinking 6- of-12 attempts from 3-point range in the first half.
Drexel took control as it outrebounded the visitors, 20-13, and assisted nine of its 17 makes from the floor in the second stanza. The Dukes were held to just 25 percent efficiency from the field and missed all six of their shots from behind the 3-point line after the break.
The Dragons outscored JMU, 34-16, in the paint and finished 7-of-15 from beyond the arc.Game Notes
