Recap: Rider vs. Marist
Lawrenceville, NJ (SportsNetwork.com) - Adam Kemp notched a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds as the Marist Red Foxes outlasted the Rider Broncs, 68-61, in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play at Alumni Gymnasium.
Jay Bowie also tallied a double-double for Marist (9-14, 6-7 MAAC) with 14 points and 13 rebounds. Khallid Hart netted 15 points with five assists, and Manny Thomas scored 12 points off the bench in the win. The Red Foxes have won three straight games.
Anthony Myles tallied 17 points to lead Rider (12-10, 8-5), while Daniel Stewart chipped in 16 points and five rebounds. Jimmie Taylor contributed 14 points on 4-of-11 shooting in the loss, which ended a three-game win streak.
Marist shot just 33.3 percent from the floor in the first half, and went into the locker room at the break down 32-28. Rider connected on 48.1 percent of its shots in the frame.
The Red Foxes boosted their shooting percentage to 42.9 in the second half, and went 14-of-18 from the free-throw line. The Broncs' percentage fell to 36.7 in the second period, including 1-of-11 from 3-point range (9.1 percent).
Marist had a decisive edge at the free-throw line, 18-8, and in rebounding, 47-26.Game Notes
