Recap: Wright State vs. Cleveland State
Dayton, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - Charlie Lee poured in 25 points to lead the Cleveland State Vikings to a 70-68 win over the Wright State Raiders in a Horizon League battle at the Nutter Center.
Lee, who scored a career-high 31 points on Thursday at Oakland, knocked down 4-of-5 attempts from beyond the arc and all seven of his attempts at the charity stripe Vikings (17-9, 8-3 Horizon), who have now won six games in a row. Anton Grady recorded a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds while Bryn Forbes chipped in 10 points.
Jerran Young paced Wright State (14-13, 6-6) with 15 points off the bench. J.T. Yoho contributed 14 points, Cole Darling scored 12 points and Miles Dixon had 10. A.J. Pacher led the Raiders on the glass with seven boards in just 15 minutes.
Wright State shot 45.5 percent from the field including a 6-of-14 clip from 3- point range in the first half. The Vikings went into the intermission trailing, 31-29, despite making 46.2 percent of their field goal attempts in the opening 20 minutes.
CSU heated up to sink 63.2 percent of its shots from the floor and also converted all 15 of its attempts at the free-throw line in the second half. Although the Raiders forced the visitors into 10 turnovers after the break, their 46.2 percent efficiency from the field was not enough to keep up with the Vikings.
Despite the loss, Wright State outscored the Vikings, 24-14, in the paint. CSU enjoyed a 31-22 edge in the rebounding battle.Game Notes
