Recap: Drexel vs. Delaware
Philadelphia, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - Devon Saddler scored a game-high 23 points, one of five players in double figures, as the Delaware Blue Hens defeated the Drexel Dragons, 90-77. in Colonial Athletic Association action at the Daskalakis Center.
Saddler, who shot 9-of-14 from the floor, accounted for eight rebounds and seven assists as well for the Blue Hens (13-7, 5-0 CAA) as they remained undefeated in conference play with their seventh consecutive win overall. Jarvis Threatt came up an assist shy of a double-double as he tallied 18 points, Marvin King-Davis delivered 15, Davon Usher 12 points and Carl Baptiste 10 for the visitors.
Leading the way for Drexel (10-8, 2-3) was Frantz Massenat with 20 points and a game-high 10 assists, followed by Tavon Allen and Chris Fouch with 19 and 18 points, respectively, as the program suffered a second loss in three outings.
Delaware connected on 59.4 percent from the field in the first half, compared to only 35.3 percent for the hosts, as the Blue Hens moved out to a commanding 48-32 advantage at the break.
In the second half the Hens again shot the ball well from the floor (.533), but with just a single triple in four tries they saw their advantage dwindle a bit before capturing the double-digit win on the road.
Drexel turned the ball over just four times, but the home team had trouble keeping up with Delaware in the paint as the Hens grabbed a 44-27 rebounding advantage.Game Notes
