Recap: Pepperdine vs. Pacific
Malibu, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Stacy Davis scored a game-high 24 points and pulled down eight rebounds as the Pepperdine Waves coasted past the Pacific Tigers, 80-69, in a West Coast Conference tilt at Firestone Fieldhouse.
Davis connected on all 11 of his free-throw attempts in the contest. Brendan Lane tallied 18 points and eight rebounds for Pepperdine (14-10, 7-5 WCC), while Malcolm Brooks added 11 points in the win. Jeremy Major dished out a team-high eight assists for the Waves, who have won two games in a row.
Andrew Bock and T.J. Wallace each netted 15 points to pace Pacific (12-10, 3-8). Tony Gill scored 12 points and grabbed eight rebounds, and Khalil Kelley chipped in 10 points in the loss. The Tigers have lost two of their last three contests.
Pepperdine shot 57.1 percent from the floor in the first half, including 4- of-7 from 3-point range, and took a 40-32 lead into the intermission. Pacific connected on 32.3 percent of its shot attempts in the frame, and hit 8-of-9 from the free-throw line.
The Waves shot 42.9 percent from the field in the second half, adding 19-of-23 from the free-throw line. The Tigers improved to 46.2 percent in the second period, and hit 6-of-12 from 3-point distance, but couldn't cut into the Pepperdine lead.
The Waves held the edge in bench points, 36-25, and from the free-throw line, 23-15. Pacific outscored Pepperdine from 3-point range, 30-21.Game Notes
