Recap: Canisius vs. Siena
Buffalo, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Billy Baron finished with a double-double to lead the Canisius Golden Griffins to a 93-78 victory over the Siena Saints in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference action at Koessler Athletic Center.
Baron had 21 points and 13 assists as well as five rebounds for Canisius (5-3, 2-0 MAAC). Dominique Raney added 19 points, Zach Lewis tacked on 18 off the bench and Jordan Heath chipped in 15 to go with four blocks.
Brett Bisping scored a career-best 17 points and came a rebound short of a double-double for Siena (3-8, 1-1). Michael Wolfe recorded 14 points and Maurice White chimed in with 10.
Canisius lit it up from 3-point range early on, sinking 10-of-15 attempts from beyond the arc to roll into halftime leading 57-36. Siena connected on 55.6 percent of its field goal tries in the period but just 1-of-5 from 3-point distance.
The Saints netted 56.7 percent from the field in the second half while the Golden Griffins cooled to 40.7 percent shooting. Canisius was able to keep the Saints at bay by once again outscoring them from 3-point range (15-0).
